The death has occurred of Chris Murray, Dooagh, Achill, Co. Mayo & Birmingham, and originally Kilmurray, Co. Roscommon – peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the excellent care of the medical team at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar on 14th April 2026.

Pre-deceased by his parents Michael & Nora Murray.

He will be deeply missed by his devoted and loving wife Kathleen; dearest sons Noel (Orla), Eamonn (Terri), Chris (Mary), daughter Catherine (John); cherished grandchildren Anthony (Hannah), Kate, Tom, Ella and great-grandchildren Aoife and Griff. Also his beloved sister Peggy (Eddie) Birmingham, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Achill Sound, F28HN81 on Thursday, April 16th from 5pm until 6.30pm.

Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Pollagh on Friday, April 17th at 11.30 with the funeral proceeding to Slievemore Cemetery.

Family home private please.
